Rep. Franklin issued the following statement regarding his support for H.R. 1435, the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act:

“In order to implement their extreme New Green Deal agenda, the Biden White House wants to dictate our every move, from the kind of stove we use to the kind of car we drive. Allowing California and the EPA to ban the sale of internal combustion engines will expand our reliance on China for specialized manufacturing and force Americans into expensive electric vehicles (EVs) they don’t want and can’t afford.

“This massive regulation of our lives is neither practical, nor feasible. That’s why I joined my Republican colleagues in passing H.R. 1435. This bill prevents the federal government from catering to radical environmentalists. Americans should never be forced to sacrifice consumer choice to appease a radical, socialist agenda.”
