Rep. Scott Franklin (FL-18) issued the following statement regarding the U.S. abstention on the Gaza ceasefire resolution before the UN Security Council yesterday:

“A non-veto is a critical foreign policy failure by the Biden Administration. The President must reaffirm American support of Israel and its right to defend itself.  He should immediately and unequivocally denounce a ceasefire, especially proposals that fail to demand the safe return of all hostages.  Anything less makes the US look weak and sends mixed messages to our strong ally and friend, Israel.”
