Franklin Supports Final FY26 Spending Package Putting Defense First And Strengthening Infrastructure
WASHINGTON, D.C. ,
January 22, 2026
Congressman Scott Franklin (FL-18), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, today voted in favor of the final package of Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations bills, completing the House’s work on all 12 funding measures. The package includes the Defense, Homeland Security, Labor-Health and Human Services-Education, and Transportation-Housing and Urban Development bills. “This package delivers for Florida by supporting missions at our military bases, sustaining critical defense jobs and industry, strengthening military infrastructure and advancing key training capabilities,” said Congressman Franklin. “It also supports infrastructure that drives long-term growth in our fast growing communities. Together, these priorities reflect a responsible approach to governing that strengthens our state and the nation.” The FY26 appropriations package advances key priorities across four major funding areas:
Congressman Franklin added, “These bills reflect a clear shift in priorities. They move us away from Biden-era spending levels and refocus the federal government on its core responsibilities, including military readiness, border security and infrastructure that supports long-term economic strength, while maintaining fiscal discipline. Passing full-year appropriations provides certainty and stability, and I’m pleased the House advanced these bills through regular order.” Passage of these bills completes all 12 FY26 appropriations measures. Together, they provide full-year funding without unrelated policy riders, cost less than another stopgap continuing resolution and reinforce Congress’s constitutional role over federal spending, delivering responsible governance, stronger national security and real oversight for the American taxpayer. The measure passed the House by a vote of 341-88 and now moves to the Senate for consideration to prevent a government shutdown. Bill text available here.
