WASHINGTON—Representative Scott Franklin (FL-15) today joined House Republican Leaders and his Republican colleagues to condemn the Biden Administration’s immigration actions that are creating a crisis at the southern border. The number of migrant children border crossings has nearly tripled in the last two weeks, overwhelming border facilities as the Biden administration scrambles to find room for the unaccompanied minors. Consequentially, the number of COVID-positive migrants has contributed to community spread of the coronavirus in border surrounding communities.

“The actions of President Biden are creating a public-health crisis at our southern border,” Rep. Franklin said. “We have learned that more than 100,000 migrants were encountered attempting to illegally cross our Southern border last month. During a global pandemic, this is creating a genuine crisis that must be addressed immediately. I join my colleagues in urging the president to reverse the executive order that set that crisis in motion to protect the health and safety of Americans.”
