WASHINGTON, D.C.-Rep. Scott Franklin (FL-18) issued the following statement regarding his support for H.R. 7217, the House Israel aid package. This bill failed the House of Representatives by a vote of 250-180.

"On October 7, 2023 we watched in horror as Iran-backed Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on our ally and friend, Israel. In the months that followed, the conflict with Hamas has only escalated. Iran and its proxies have grown bolder, even killing our servicemembers.

“As the Middle East inches closer to all-out war, America must send a clear and unequivocal message we stand with Israel in its fight to defend itself. I’m disappointed this bill, which would have provided needed support to Israel and our troops in the region, failed tonight. I will always stand with our ally, Israel.”
