WASHINGTON, DC - Rep. Scott Franklin (FL-18) issued the following statement regarding his vote to oppose a clean continuing resolution:
"Today, I voted against a 45-day Continuing Resolution that makes no effort to secure the border and greenlights more of Biden’s weaponized government. I cannot support any short-term spending bill that fails to hold the Administration accountable or address Congress’ insatiable appetite to spend money. Americans are expecting Congress to make tough choices and stop our nation’s collision course with bankruptcy.
“Congress must use this extension to continue passing principled single-subject funding bills that address our mounting national debt and roll back the Biden agenda in a more permanent way. I’m willing to work whatever hours necessary to ensure we’re not back in this same place 45 days from now.”
