Congressman Scott Franklin’s office is currently accepting applications for internships in his Washington, D.C. and Lakeland, FL offices for the winter/spring internship session.

Internships provide a valuable opportunity to learn more about the legislative branch and to serve constituents from Florida’s 18th Congressional District.

Responsibilities may include answering phones, assisting with constituent services and correspondence, conducting legislative research, providing tours of the U.S. Capitol, supporting staff members, and assisting with special projects as requested. Interns may also attend committee hearings and briefings and participate in a Summer Intern Lecture Series with Members of Congress who are the guest speakers.

This rewarding experience offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to learn about and contribute to the daily operations of a Congressional office.

Successful candidates will have excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills. Individuals with ties to Florida’s 18th Congressional District and Florida are especially encouraged to apply.

Washington, DC office hours are Monday-Friday, from 9:00am-6:00pm when the House is in Session and 9:00am-5:00pm during District Work Periods. District Office hours are 9:00am-5:00pm. Part-time schedules include a minimum of 2-3 full-time days per week. Internships are paid and college credit, if applicable, will be provided.
